After a hair transplant, people wonder when they can shave during the healing process. This is a question people forget to ask during the exam while doing research before the hair transplant.
Before hair transplantation, people's hair is shaved before the procedure.
After the hair transplant surgery, the transplanted hair starts to grow slowly 3 months after the transplant process.
In areas where no hair transplant has been performed, hair continues to grow normally in the parts of people where no transplant has been performed.
The donor area is the area between your two ears, where you have genetically non-shedding hair. To perform a hair transplant in a thin or bald area, experts take grafts from this donor area.
After hair transplantation, people are bothered by the difference in hair length between the area from which the hair grafts were taken and the area where the transplant was performed. You can shave your donor area 3 weeks after the transplant.
One month after the hair transplant, you can cut your hair with scissors in the area where the hair transplant was performed.
Shaving should not be avoided for up to 6 months after the hair transplant. Be sure to ask your plastic surgeon about shaving during your follow-up appointments.
Note: During your hair transplant checkup, while receiving information about the recovery process after hair transplant, make sure to ask your doctor about your haircut.
