In hair transplantation, determining and maintaining the correct implantation angle ensures a natural appearance. While the frontal forehead line is considered the most important area for a natural appearance, the vertex—the upper part of the head—is also considered the most difficult area to achieve a natural look.
The word "vertex" comes from Latin and means "peak, apex." In medicine, it is defined as the "top of the skull." This area is of great importance in hair transplantation. The angle of each individual hair in this area follows its own dynamics. The growth direction can also vary from person to person. To achieve a natural result in this area, each hair follicle must be transplanted at an individual angle using special methods.
First, the person's hair structure is determined. The natural growth angle of the hair in the upper scalp is taken into account, and the required number of hair follicles is calculated. Healthy hair follicles from the donor area are transplanted to the upper scalp. Due to its advantages, the FUE technique is used for such regional hair transplants. As with other hair transplants performed using this method, the vertex area heals quickly. The treated person can return to their daily routine very quickly.
After the vertex hair transplant, this area must be protected from external influences. After about three months, the transplanted hair begins to grow. After about a year, a completely natural appearance is achieved.
